We're porting Firefox to macOS ARM64, it would be good to have a download page for it ready.

Hi, can you give a little more context as to what you're hoping for with this request?

I'm not quite clear when you say "Add Download pages" whether you mean:

a.) Creating a download page specifically for this build
b.) Adding this build to our regular download pages / buttons.

We already support Aarch64 builds on Windows, but we don't have a dedicated download page for that build itself. In our experience, different builds are generally not something consumers understand so easily when presented with several options. Instead, we typically do our best to work out what build they need by default. Or if they are more technical and want something specific, they can get that from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Hi Alex, I'm trying to get an idea about the work involved/our latency in getting 2 things (different options):

  1. Just adding this build to the regular downloads.
  2. If we have to create a separate page that points out it is a "preview" build with caveats.

If you can get builds into product details, then adding them as an option to a page like https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ should be a relatively low lift. Taking that one step further and integrating the builds into our main product download buttons takes a little more effort and some careful testing.

If we wanted to create a preview landing page that's certainly possible, but I'd defer to what our designers/UX people think in terms of the appropriate placement.

cc'ing Justin here who is the websites lead.

Going to WONTFIX as we went with Universal Binaries and this is very unlikely to change now.
