User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:81.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/81.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Right click on link with something you can download or save.
- Click "Save Link As..."
Actual results:
Cannot download or save, and would get an error message:
"The download cannot be saved because an unknown error occured.
Please try again."
(Screenshot file attached.)
Expected results:
Firefox should have allowed you to select where to save the new file and what to name it.

Could you please check if in Safe Mode you still cannot download? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
What about a temporary new profile? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
Could you share one page or link where this happens, so we ca ntry reproducing the bug?
I wonder if you have some blocker (ad blocker, antivirus, network level blocker) that is disallowing the request, would you be able to use the Firefox Devtools network panel to check if something looks "blocked"?
