User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0
Steps to reproduce:
Just updated to 82 (I was using 79, but It happens to me since I update to version 81) and I got a nasty surprise, I modified browser.urlbar.maxRichResults to 20 a long time ago (although I don't know if it is of much use) so far it has always been good for me, in the search bar (I have browser.urlbar.suggest.searches disabled). When I was writing the first letters it showed me pages that I had previously visited, now to do this I have to fill in blank spaces, for example before writing "transl" it showed me"http://translate.google.com"now I have to write "trans " (3 blanks) for you to show me. It's a bit annoying, is it a bug or something that needs to be changed in the configuration?
There are also times that even doing this it takes a long time for something to appear, but not always, but until the last update I did not have these problems
My places.sqlite file occupies about 60 megabytes, maybe it is a lot, but I never delete the history due to the way I complete the urls that I visit the most by writing a few letters until it is shown to me automatically (until now)
I have also verified that if I write a url in the bar I have to hit enter twice to load it, while if I copy and paste it with one it is enough
It is the first time that I write here, excuse me if I did not do it in the correct way

That's normal, but there may be a database problem. Please do the following:
- Type
about:supportinto the address bar. - Scroll nearly all the way down to Places Database.
- Click the Verify Integrity button. It will take a while for the check to complete.
- Copy the whole output that appeared below the aforementioned button and paste it in a comment here.

But before this did not happen to me, as soon as I wrote it showed me the results of the history, I did not have to put blank spaces, or when putting a url I did not have to hit enter twice

Do you mean the problem doesn't happen anymore?

The simplest thing to try here would be a Firefox Refresh (from about:support). That would copy a few things into a new profile (bookmarks, history and password are copied) but lose most of the other settings and add-ons, though it's very likely the problem lies there.
In the worst case, if it doesn't work, you could still copy back the profile from the Old Firefox Data folder.
See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
I always suggest to make a copy of the profiles folder before starting doing experiments, anyway, yo ucan easily reach it from about:support, there's a dedicated button.
click on "reset firefox"? losing all cookies, history, is not an option for me
It is a problem that occurred from the jump from 79 to 81.0.2 in my case, before everything was perfect being the same as now.
I do not understand very well that when putting blank spaces in the bar if I find the history when before I did it only by putting the first letters

the modified preferences are also saved in the profile folder? it is in case when restoring said folder it would also restore the modified preferences

Afaik the Old Firefox Data folder created on the desktop is a full copy of the profile folder. But as I said you should still make a copy of your profile folder as an additional safety precaution. Modified prefs won't be ported automatically to the refreshed profile, since they may be related to the bug.
Another possibility you could try before doing all of this, would be to test a clean profile, if the bug doesn't reproduce in the clean profile, then it's likely Refresh will solve the problem. If the bug also happens in the clean profile, then there must be something happening between Firefox and the system, and a Refresh won't help. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles to learn about profiles management.

yes, I already know that the modified preferences are not transferred, but I ask that if I backup the profile, these preferences are saved in the folder

The full profile folder should be saved, that includes the preferences. Anyway as I said, you can also do an additional backup of the profile folder by yourself, that's actually a good practice to do periodically.

Unfortunately this is still not actionable for us, we need help identifying whether the problem is due to the specific Firefox profile in use, and then we should figure out which part/setting in the profile is causing it.

I'm sorry I have had little free time, I will try to do some of the tests indicated above, and I will put the results, but what surprises me and is how I indicate this began to happen with the indicated update, before said update I had no problems

I must note Firefox 83 is behind the corner (will be released next week) so it may also be worth testing there.
