User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0
Steps to reproduce:
Scrolling or switching between tabs with webrender and hardware acceleration enabled.
Actual results:
Produces a black box on a random portion of the screen. Particularly the upper and bottom corners, but sometimes random sections in the middle. Disabling webrender makes the boxes appear with less frequency, but they still show up from time to time.
Expected results:
Ideally, the boxes shouldn't be showing up at all.

Can you open the page about:support, click the "Copy text to clipboard" button, come back to this bug, click the "Attach New File" button above, and paste and submit that troubleshooting information?

I apologize for neglecting to do that in the first place; slipped my mind.

Kote, can you try updating your graphics driver?

Kote, can you try updating your graphics driver?
Windows seems to determine that my display drivers are already up-to-date.

Kote, do you still see this if you set gfx.webrender.compositor=false in about:support and restart?

Doing that now. Due to the sporadic nature of the problem, I'll report whether it worked or not in a day.

Sorry, I clearly let the time get away from me (been a rather hectic week). That said, this actually did in fact solve the problem. Haven't had a black box this whole time.

Jim has this device, let's try to get a similar driver.
I have been testing on a
Lenovo Yoga 920
UHD Graphics 620
with two different drivers -
27.20.100.8681 (2020)
23.20.16.4849 (10/2017)
So far no luck reproducing. I was not able to get the exact driver version installed, but it's within one month of the driver reported here.
Driver Version: 22.20.16.4785
Driver Date: 8-29-2017

Potentially the same root cause as the nvidia flicker bug, something to do with direct composition.

I'll see if I can summarize some of the other reports.

I set gfx.webrender.compositor back to true and will now test to see if the driver alone keeps the black boxes at bay. Will try to report back in a couple days again.

... Never mind, apparently this driver isn't validated for my computer.
