Details
I would like to request a feature so that you could use a key combination along
with clicking a link to open that link in a new tab as appose to a new window.
Opera use it ctrl and shift to open the page in a new window and I would like to
request the same function to open a clickable link in a new tab

This already exists. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Tabbed Browsing and enable
"Middle-click or control-click of links in a Web page"
