16738 - Reload not reloading local files

When I go to reload a local XUL file, I get this:

Going to reload
Document
file:////home1/alecf/seamonkey/mozilla/dist/bin/chrome/messenger/content/default/AccountManager2.xul
loaded successfully
Document: Done (0.381 secs)


But the document doesn't actually reload... not only does it not reload if the
document changes on disk, it also doesn't reset any form elements or anything,
so I know that NOTHING is happening


Assigning to radha because I think maybe this is session history or something
related?

I tried in today's build. Reloading a local file does work. I changed the file
contents between reloads and it picked up my changes. Went to bugzilla query
page, filled up a few text elements and reloaded it. After relaod, my edits are
gone. I tried (messenger/content/default/AccountManager.xul).  When I do a
reload, the script gets executed, and I got a pair of <OK> and <cancel> buttons.

are you still seeing this problem?

I just tried this out - it turns out it's specifically with chrome URLs...

I tried the messenger/content/default/AccountWizard.xul.  I changed the radio
button options and did a reload. After the reload, my changes were gone. The
logic for maintaining form element state is the same for all elements.  So
atleast in this case, I knew that the xul file was reloaded.

but did you try it starting with a chrome URL instead of a file: URL?

I played around with some testcases a few days ago and noticed that when I
reloaded an html file containing a table with a background gif, the gif wouldn't
get reloaded.
