[Description:]
There will be cases in which if a top site is sponsored on a position > 8, it will not be shown by default, given that the top sites default to showing 1 row = 8 positions. Therefore a position 9 sponsored top site will not be shown.
[Preconditions:]
A sponsored topsite is present at position 9+ or position 19+ or position 25+.
Top sites shown rows are default (1).
[Steps:]
- Download and install RO localized Firefox.
- Create an user.js and set: browser.topsites.useRemoteSetting = true
- Start the browser with the predefined profile.
- Open a new tab.
- Observe the topsites section.
[Actual Result:]
Default shown top sites is 1 row, therefore the sponsored position 9 will not be shown.
[Expected Result:]
Not sure if we'll encounter this situation or if it is actionable, but given that the top site is "sponsored", I would assume it would be expected to be shown by default: and in this case the default should be 2 rows topsites.
Defaulting to 2-3-4 rows in response to sponsored top-sites position would also cause quite a few of empty positions, on new profiles, therefore not sure if we'd actually want to do that
