fresh install of linux mint 20 and in 19.when an email ac is configured.tany email in inbox when diubke clicmes opens a dark window and closes the main window.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Configure new email account or use existing account.
  2. Double click on a email in inbox to open email as a new tab or a window.
  3. The new email window has a black background and email text cannot be read.
  4. During the above process as in point 3. The main thunderbird window is closed.

Actual results:

The closing of the main windows happens mostly the first time. May not happen again. You need to reboot your computer to experience the issue.

Expected results:

The main window and the child window should remain open and email matter should be ligible.

The os is Linux mint 20 and also on Ubuntu 20

Sounds like you have a problem with a theme. Can you try with the default Thunderbird theme?
