Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0

Steps to reproduce:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/78.4.0
(1) open e-mail
(2) right-mouse-click on attachment (pdf-file)
Opening dialogue asks what to do with attachment
(3) click on "save"

Actual results:

No result.

Expected results:

Saving file at a defined place. (I did not find file at any place on pc.)
Optional a context dialogue where to save.

Please try the version from thunderbird.net

It might be the version from thunderbird.net since Ubuntu is still at 68.10.0, or it could be a Snap package. I don't test or use those.

I can't reproduce the problem using 78.4.0 from thunderbird.net on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Gnome.

I get a Save or Cancel dialog opening with the last folder I used selected. Which I can change to another should I choose.

Reporter, do you have "Always ask me where to save files" enabled in Preferences > General?
