Details

config4.json gets done pretty quickly (~1hr?), while config1.json takes a long time (~5 hours?). But config1 is the one with our "tier-1" repos (m-c, m-mobile, etc) so we should move some of the tier-2 stuff over to config4.json. That way we get m-c updates with less latency, and also reduce the risk of tier-2 failures causing the entire config1 indexer to fail.

Steps:

  1. Decide which repos to move over
  2. Copy those repos into config4.json
  3. Wait for the next release4 deployment
  4. Update load balancer so that requests for those repos go to release4 target group
  5. Remove repos from config1.json

  1. Somewhat arbitrarily, I chose to leave config1 with nss, m-c, c-c, and m-m and move whatwg-html, mozilla-build, glean, v-c-t, ecma262, and kaios. I'm happy to adjust this if anybody feels the lists should be different.
