User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:83.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/83.0
Steps to reproduce:
I was trying to clear up why my drive was so full. I clicked on clear cache in options.
Actual results:
I looked back at my drive and found that there are two folders : Cache and cache2. cache2 had 200kb, not so far from the 76 kb that TB said was being used. But then I looked in Cache! 118 MB! Lots of different sub folders. What I wouldn't do to reclaim that space. Is there any way to know if I could just delete it? It looks like the most recent information is 3 years old. While I was poking around in there I saw datareporting another 3.58 MB In my options I have both options for Thunderbird to send information unchecked. How is it that it sent it and can I just delete it? Can the emptying of these sorts of archived data be added to the Options screen?
Expected results:
It would have been nice to have 76 kb left in Cache and not have cache2 and not have datareporting archived. It would also be nice if the Options screen told me that I was using this much space for these things.

I don't know anything about the cache folders, but see bug 1675781 regarding the datareporting folder. It is intended and capped at 120MB, and you can disable it with pref, 'toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled' set to False. I don't know why clear cache doesn't clear this data, but there's probably a reason for it. Since it is intended Firefox behaviour, not much chance we modify it and even less chance we add UI to interact with it. IMO this is an insignificant amount of storage usage anyways.
