User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.67 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
I installed the latest Firefox version.
Actual results:
i can enter what I want, nothing happens when I hit ENTER.
I verified that no proxy is configured.
Expected results:
The website should load. But nothing happens.

Does it work if you use a clean Firefox profile ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles ) ?
What version of Firefox are you testing with?
Can you try opening the browser console ( https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Browser_Console ) using the command-shift-j shortcut, and seeing if new errors appear there when you attempt to open a website using the Firefox address bar?
Had similar issue on Mac OS 10.15.7 (19H114) and Firefox 84.0 (64-bit).
Firefox started to hang right after OS X update to 10.15.7... It was working fine in safe mode, but disabling of the hardware acceleration, Firefox refresh, disabling of the extensions and plugins didn't fixed the issue. It was working up to 5 seconds after start and then completely hang (even cursor has stopped blinking in the url bar).
Only complete removal of files in my profile folder helped :(
Had no time to dig it deeper cause it's a work laptop and I need Firefox to work (don't want to help google to take over the world by using chrome).
Please contact me if some additional details are needed.

Well, that doesn't sound good. Do you have a copy of the data you removed that you'd be willing to share (removing stored passwords and anything else that seems private) ?

Sorry but I don't have a backup of that folder... There was not much of an important information for me cause I use Firefox sync, so I've deleted it
Seems that it was a bad idea... Possibly if someone will encounter this issue and find this thread they will know that it would be good to save it for investigation.

OK, let's call it "works for me" for now, and we can always reopen if someone else runs into the same and gets more information about what went wrong.

This is exactly what's happened to me, too. Problems only after upgrading to Mac OS 10.15.7. Have not tried removing all files in my profile folder. So it's not working for me and I'm happy to send on any details. I've run EtreCheck, Disk Utility, and Onyx, following their advice about removing Flash, other obsolete apps, and unused Start Up and Launch daemons.
