(Whiteboard: [antivirus: ESET/NOD32])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:83.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/83.0
Steps to reproduce:
I guess it happened after the last update of thunderbird to (78.5.0 32 bit). I didn't notice it right away.
Actual results:
I can't get new messages from the server. The program shows that it connects and then nothing happens. No mistake, nothing. As if there were no new messages. Sending new messages works, receiving does not work. By logging directly to the server, I can see that I have new messages. I have about 10 different mailboxes on different servers in 3 different profiles and it is impossible to receive new messages on any one. (wp.pl, gmail.com, etc.). There is the same effect everywhere. The program behaves as if it is connecting, logging in and finding that there are no new messages.

If you are using ESET/NOD32 security/AV then probability is very high it is causing your problems. According to ESET forums, you should temporarily disable SSL on ESET until they solve the problem per https://support.eset.com/en/kb3126-disable-ssl-filtering-in-eset-windows-products?ref=esf - the problem is being reported by dozens of users https://forum.eset.com/topic/26517-problems-with-thunderbird-and-imaps/ https://forum.eset.com/discover/
You might also inform them of your difficulty.

Thank you very much. I forgot about it completely. I didn't think it was a problem with ESET because I turned off the firewall and it didn't work. It wasn't until you mentioned it that I remembered the ESET problem with the SSL certificate and it actually helped. Thanks again.
