If you are using ESET/NOD32 security/AV then probability is high that ESET is causing your problems. According to ESET forums, you should temporarily disable SSL on ESET until they solve the problem per https://support.eset.com/en/kb3126-disable-ssl-filtering-in-eset-windows-products.
You might also inform ESET that they have broken your system. The problem is being reported by hundreds of users https://forum.eset.com/topic/26517-problems-with-thunderbird-and-imaps/ https://forum.eset.com/discover/

Thank you Wayne, unfortunately I do not use ESET/NOD32 security on my system, I do use BitDefender.

Carried out this procedure: functionality get slightly better (increased number of successful connections) but I continue to get randomly no sync and folder disappearance. Would like to attacch error console report but I don't know wich of them is the last.
Hi, just a reminder on this problem that is still occurring.
As the info in my last comment got connection working, but then suffers from random no sync issues, I'm wondering if you have cookies enabled but perhaps they are expiring or you have some kind of product that cleans up cookies eg: CCleaner or even Anti-virus can offer a clean up of files. If you do have a product that is cleaning up files, session, cookies, etc then you need to make Thunderbird profile exempt from access by those programs.

Thank you, Anje. Unfortunately I do not use any of this kind of software and my Antivirus does not have this functionality.
Sync issue still persist.

Closing this for now, as I don't think it is a bug in Thunderbird
