1680950 - not syncing open tabs between 82 and 85

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open Firefox 82.0.3 with lots of tabs and 85.0a1, then in 82 activate "sync open tabs", then hit "sync now", then switch to 85, also activate "sync open tabs" and hit "sync now"

Actual results:

nothing happens, open tabs from 82.0.3 are not being transferred/opened in 85.0a1...

Expected results:

Should open the tabs that in 85.0a1 that are open in 82.0.3.

If you use 82 and 85, why is the version field set to 83?

The tabs from your other devices should appear in the "synced tabs" menu, which you can find by clicking on the account icon on your toolbar and then "synced tabs". Does this list show the tabs you expect from other devices?

Ah very interesting, thank you! But there is no way to open all those tabs with 1 click, correct?

I'm not aware of any way to open them all at once, no.

I'm going to go ahead and close this issue since it sounds like the tabs are appearing where they're supposed to. Please feel welcome to file a new bug to request improvements to the UI around managing these tabs.
