As described, clicking in link or right-clicking and selecting "Open link in browser" don't work. But right-clicking and selecting "Copy link" works correctly, and I can paste the URL in the browser without issues.
Problem started immediately* after upgrading from 78.5.0-1deb10u1 to 78.5.1-1deb10u1
grep -E '^(Start-Date|Upgrade):' /var/log/apt/history.log | grep -B 1 thunderbird
Start-Date: 2020-12-04 12:08:14
Upgrade: lightning:amd64 (1:78.5.0-1~deb10u1, 1:78.5.1-1~deb10u1), thunderbird:amd64 (1:78.5.0-1~deb10u1, 1:78.5.1-1~deb10u1), thunderbird-l10n-pt-br:amd64 (1:78.5.0-1~deb10u1, 1:78.5.1-1~deb10u1)
Some system info
uname -r
4.19.0-13-amd64
dpkg -l thunderbird*
...
ii thunderbird 1:78.5.1-1~deb10u1 amd64 ...
ii thunderbird-l10n-pt-br 1:78.5.1-1~deb10u1 all ...
cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=LinuxMint
DISTRIB_RELEASE=4
DISTRIB_CODENAME=debbie
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="LMDE 4 Debbie"
dpkg -l cinnamon
ii cinnamon 4.6.7+debbie amd64
Preferred browser and e-mail client settings in Cinnamon are, respectively, Firefox and Thunderbird. I changed no Cinnamon/Thunderbird/Firefox setting since links worked.
- In fact, I can't remember if I used Thunderbird yesterday after upgrading

Where it says "78.5.1-1deb10u1 to 78.5.0-1deb10u1", pls read 78.5.0-1~deb10u1 to 78.5.1-1~deb10u1

I manually installed 78.5.0 from archive repo and confirmed the same links (tried 3 different ones) work without problems in 78.5.0 and don't in 78.5.1.

Did you try 78.5.1 (or 78.6) from archive.mozilla.org, not from the distro?

(In reply to Magnus Melin [:mkmelin] from comment #4)
Did you try 78.5.1 (or 78.6) from archive.mozilla.org, not from the distro?
I hadn't. Dowloaded 78.5.1 now, and confirmed that it works correctly from archive, but not from the distro. So I guess I should reopen this against the distro bug tracker, right?
Thanks,
Emerson
