I saw njn talking about valgrind 3.17.0 on Twitter, which made me look whether we were on the latest release, which we are, but we're still using a hack to pull a new version from upstream git and use the packaging stuff from 3.15.0 in Debian, because back when we upgraded, there wasn't a Debian package yet.
