Change Product Info
earlier this year Firefox for Android components were blocked from filing new issues as Mozilla switched officially to Fenix. Enough time has elapsed and there are no security issues remaining so we can move the entire product to the "Firefox for Android Graveyard"
From what I can tell these are the components:
Activity Stream
Add-on Manager
Android partner distribution
Android Sync
Audio/Video
Awesomescreen
Custom Tabs
Data Providers
Download Manager
Favicon Handling
Firefox Accounts
First Run
General
JimDB
Keyboards and IME
Locale Switching and Selection
Logins, Passwords, and form fill
Metrics
Overlays
Profile Handling
Reader View
Screencasting
Session Restore
Settings and Preferences
Testing
Text Selection
Theme and Visual Design
Toolbar
Web Apps (PWAs)

Talked with Snorp and Sebastian about most of the components and they don't see anything useful to move out of Fx Android. Checked with Bryce and the Media team. They are going to pull out any interesting bugs. They should be able to do that even if the issues are in Firefox for Android Graveyard, correct? We are good to do this on or after Monday Dec 14th

Normally we try not to graveyard bugs that are still in the open state. There are currently 4893 bugs in Firefox for Android still open. Would we be able to close these before moving possibly? I have a script that can do it with a comment.

hmm, I see what you mean. Maybe some of the components could be graveyard, or maybe we can move the open bugs to one or two components.
:kbrosnan, are there further concerns with graveyarding the components? Do you have thoughts on closing the bugs en masse?

I would not expect to find much value in manually going through the bugs. Closing as incomplete or whatever is common in this situation makes sense to me. If this is going to create bugmail then a blurb like
We have completed our launch of our new Firefox on Android. The development of the new versions use GitHub for issue tracking. If the bug report still reproduces in a current version of Firefox on Android nightly an issue can be reported at the Fenix GitHub project. If you want to discuss your report please use Mozilla's chat server https://chat.mozilla.org and join the #fenix channel.

(In reply to Joel Maher ( :jmaher ) (UTC -0800) from comment #8)
thanks Kevin, you sold me on it. :dkl, need anything else from Kevin or myself?
Ok. When I close them, it will not generate extra email so that is not an issue. I will need the text of the comment you would like added to the bugs.

The second paragraph I gave in comment 7 is the statement to use when closing the bugs.
