[Sugested Severity:]
S3
[Description:]
when I'm on search bar, initialized by tab to search, and I click out of the search bar or change applications, the search mode is lost.
[Steps:]
- Open Firefox with a new profile.
- Click on the search bar
- Type @g and press tab (google search mode is started)
- Click out of the address bar
[Actual result:]
Search mode is lost and only @g is shown in the address bar
[Expected result:]
When you are in search mode and click out of the address bar, we use a lighter version of the search engine indicator. It's meant to move into the background like the rest of the address bar
[Notes:]
This is a regression. It does not happen on release because on release I can't do step 3. I can also reproduce it with tab to search. I will do the mozregression later on.

I'm not sure if this is a bug yet, selecting tab-to-search as well as selecting a one-off button enters the so-called Search Mode "preview", it does not confirm search mode, so it is not supposed to stick around.
What's the difference? When Search Mode is confirmed, it sticks in the urlbar also on blur and we provide search suggestions from that engine. But when you move through current results, we cannot confirm search mode, otherwise as soon as you select a one-off button or tab-to-search the current results would change to the ones from that engine. That'd be too much flicker-y and broken.
Blurring the address bar and then focusing it again should bring the urlbar to the previous state, but if we'd confirm search mode on blur, on focus we'd not be back to the previous state, we'd be back to a different state (in search mode). The previous state was "I typed @g", the new state would be "[Search Google]".
Based on this, I think the current behavior is correct according to our definition of what happens when you focus the urlbar.
