in the "Langauge and Content Packs" pref dialog i have: Installed Content Packs: US Region (needs update) What the *hell* does that mean? Needs update? Really really weird. Do I need to update? Do Mozil do it automaticcly? I have no clue... 20020911

Reporter: You need to install matched version of language&contents pack to your based product. What's your product? What's that version? Whats version of language&contents pack did you install?
Confirmed in build 2002091108 (Mozilla 1.2a) on Mac OS 9 (not a alocalized version) I have never downloaded a language-pack, and I never will. I want the use the "US Region" which is included in every Mozilla-version by default.
On a clean mozilla install I still get this weird text. I install Mozilla 20020912 on a English Win2k localized to Danish. What does "needs update" actually mean? does it mean: "need to be updated" or "needs a update to work"? basiclly it's very confusing
Confirming on Linux, Mozilla 1.2alpha. Sea installer does have this (needs update). Looks like all contents.rdf have propper chrome:localeVersion="1.2a" though.
confirmed mozilla 20020912 on Win XP Pro. SP1 also.

In Mozilla 1.2a+WinXP. 'needs update' appears. and I make Japanese Language Pack, and install it. but also 'need update' appears at Japanese. and I cannot select Japanese. I change like under en-US.jar brand.dtd lang.version 1.1b -> 1.2a US.jar region.dtd content.version 1.1b -> 1.2a and at US and JP 'need update' disappeared.
Tao and I just ran into this when working on bug 112869.
Tentatively taking this.
