Steps to reproduce:

If I use the refresh button I have an anomalous behavior on a visual component of the JSF PrimeFaces library (p: selectOneMenu).
If the value in p:selectOneMenu is changed, the page execute an AJAX call and updates itself with new fields dependent on the value selected in p:selectOneMenu. Everything works fine until I refresh the page with the button on the address bar. When I refresh the page, the value in p:selectOneMenu is that of the previous page (not the value of the current page).
Unfortunately, the problem is not reproducible by you because it is an application exclusively accessible from a company intranet.
If instead of a refresh I perform a shift refresh (cache bypass) the problem disappears. The problem occurs from version 77 to last version (84) of Firefox, with versions prior to 77 the problem does not occur.
With the current versions of other browsers (Chrome, Edge, Explorer, Brave, Opera and Safari) the behavior is correct.

Actual results:

After refreshing page, the value in p:selectOneMenu is that of the previous page.

Expected results:

After refreshing page, the value in p: selectOneMenu must be that of the current page.

Do you think you could provide a test case for us so we can confirm it? I do not have the required technical skills to write it myself.

I hope I (at least) set the component close to the right one. If incorrect, please set a more appropriate one. Thanks.

This looks more DOM-related. Guessing on the sub-component.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to give you a test case. The behavior is very strange and only occurs under certain conditions (unfortunately I don't understand which ones). I was able to reproduce a condition in which 100% of cases occur. Unfortunately, the application is very complex and can only be accessed through a company intranet and it is necessary to access with login and password through a VPN.(In reply to Bodea Daniel [:danibodea] from comment #1)

I was able to find a public site where the abnormal behavior is similar.
The https://www.primefaces.org/showcase/ui/input/oneMenu.xhtml page shows an example of using SelectOneMenu component. If I change the contents of the "Basic" cell from "Select One" to "PS4" and then reload the page, the contents of the cell remain unchanged. If I perform the same operation with a "shift reload" (cache bypass) the contents of the cell returns "Select One" (correct behavior).
If I perform the same operation with another browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari) the behavior is always correct.

I can confirm that the changes made to the Basit drop-down are not restored to default if a normal refresh is performed, while it does when a cache bypass reload is performed. Chrome restores the original button values with a simple reload.

This issue occurs on Release v55 but not in Release v45. Mozregression results:

There seems to be hidden select and input element where the value is stored, and Gecko has traditionally restored the existing values when
doing a reload. So in that sense, the behavior is expected.
