Paste from clipboard does not work when clipboard contents from outside of Thunderbird

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.88 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Copy text from one thunderbird email to another
  2. Copy a hyperlink address from chrome (right click -> copy link address)
  3. paste into email thunderbird email

Mac OS X 10.13.6
Thunderbird 78.5.0

Actual results:

the previous copy from the email in step 1) is pasted

Expected results:

the hyperlink from chrome should be pasted.

Note this also fails for screen captures copied to the preview clipboard.

This functionality worked in previous versions of Thunderbird - I've used these functions for years.
