reporter: can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for example, 1.3a)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
Hmm... I missed the new release... Let me get it and try stuff out...
still there for Mozilla 1.2.1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 I don't have the courage for betas, but look, it'll take 3 key presses to try on 1.3a... It must be an easy fix. Someone go in add a line not to remove the last tab. Or even easier, make ctrl-f4 act like ctrl-w. Surely can't take long for the owner (of the code) to find?

sorry - I was being lazy and I didn't actually try it... ctrl+f4 does nothing for me (using 1.2.1 on win2000), whether there are several tabs or just one, so I'm not sure how to reproduce this. closing tabs with the mouse or ctrl+w leaves the last tab until the window is closed.
ctrl-f4 only works if focus is on the webpage. If u just startup the cursor will be in the location bar and it won't work. If u click the middle of the blank page a dozen times or so then ctrl-f4 should work.

ah yes... I see what you mean now (at last) having done a bit of searching, this is the same issue as bug 156082 - ctrl+f4 does the same thing as clicking the X to close a tab, and both let you close the tab bar when you have it set to be visible even if there's only one tab. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 156082 ***
