Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0
Steps to reproduce:
Opened the library to delete the browsing history. Selected all history older than 6 months, right click, delete.
System: Gentoo (precompiled binary), x64, X11
Firefox: 84.0.1
Actual results:
UI froze, firefox used all available RAM of the system (~3GB idle, 16GB installed), additional swap of 12GB got used. High CPU load. I closed the window after about 5min after starting the deletion process when I noticed the system load, RAM + CPU went back to normal. When I reopened firefox, the history was deleted / not visible anymore.
Same happened even with the monthly history, less RAM usage though.
Expected results:
Deletion of the history without such a heavy resource impact on the whole system.
