Steps to reproduce:
Thunderbird 78.6.0 [published latest]
[feature request] [Calendar] change of pre-installed settings
Actual results:
To set an appointment/date the Thunderbird user is able to switch between "Others" and "Private", where "Others" is a fix pre-installed setting.
Expected results:
[feature request] the Thunderbird user should be able to overrun this pre-installed setting by himself. EG: he should set "Private" date as a standard setting for his Calendar.
I assume, that it's quite easy to code and implement this request.
And btw.: all user, who won't change this, they can leave the "Others" pre-setting unchanged.

Where do I find this?
I don't ever recall seeing this when I create an appointment/date, and don't see anything selected under Privacy in the creation dialogs.
Priority and Status have "Not Specified" selected and Show Time As has "Busy" selected.
I must rewind a bit the Story aka my "Feature request".
I almost lost, that I did create 2 calendars long time ago.
In German:
- "Privat" aka private Dates
- "Diverse" means labour centered Dates and others
The 2nd Calendar "Diverse" is set as Default.
But I now wish the "Privat" Calendar to be set as the Default Callendar.
And I don't see any ability for me as a Thunderbird user to change the Settings (easily).
That's the background for my "Feature request".
If it would be possible to upload 2 screenshots of the appropriate Thunderbird pop-up Windows, this
would show what's meant.
(I now will try to upload by "attach new files)
"Feature" request:
how can the user change easily the system preset Calendar?
(In my case: from "Diverse Termine" to "Privat")

The first calendar in the list of the Event or Task creation dialog will be the calendar selected in the Calendar List of the Calendar Pane.
Try selecting 'Privat', then open the dialog.
Otherwise the developers gave us the option to select it from that drop-down.
Double click on "Privat" did solve my Problem.
The new setting goes permanent. Alright.
But two small "but..." stand:
- I would expect this "Switch" in the Calendar Settings window. Where it isn't.
- And I didn't find this special "how-to trick" in the Thunderbird Help.
In the end: Thanks!
And sorry for the hassle.
