RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1406868

People

(Reporter: ossman, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Receive calendar invite from Google Calendar
  2. Open said email

Actual results:

Thunderbird shows a special view generated from the attached .ics data.

Expected results:

Thunderbird shows me the text or HTML body of the email.

This is a sister bug of bug 1614402 as the "solution" to this bug previously was to disable the Lightning add-on. With that add-on permanently enabled some more control is desperately needed.

This is a big issue as the generated body by Thunderbird won't always show the same information as the body included in the email and so the user loses important details.

Not a regression, it's always been like this, and it's correct per standards... even if it's not always correct in real life.

(In reply to Magnus Melin [:mkmelin] from comment #2)

Not a regression, it's always been like this, and it's correct per standards... even if it's not always correct in real life.

It was possible to get this working before 78, and now it isn't. I don't understand how that isn't a regression?

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1646404 ***

Was that really the right bug number? It seems to discuss something regarding PGP.

Getting it "to work" by disabling lightning isn't really like it was working before...

Indeed wrong bug number. It's bug 1406868
