This is obviously because you cant have more tabs in mail/news. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open mail/news 2. Open Sidebar, e.g. the Netscape Evangelism Sidebar 3. Right-click on a link and choose "Open link in new tab". 4. Nothing happens. Actual Results: Nada Expected Results: Opened a tab in a Navigator-window or just disabled "Open link in new window"-choice. Similar to bug 117449
According to bug 168670 the Mail/News sidebar has been removed.

this can't be reproduced without the sidebar, which is gone from the trunk.
