168820 - Large .ics import from Kalendar fails

I have a large .ics file from Kalendar. Some 1700 items and a file size of about
600kb. I tried to import it and while things went well at first, it slowed down
to an absolute crawl after about 200kb. I left the import run over night and
while it was still importing the next morning, it had slowed down even further,
only adding one entry every 15 minutes or so. Eventually, it just stopped,
though the CPU was still pegged.

I ended up killing Mozilla, removing the calendar file and importing just my
entries from 2002. This was a much smaller file and seems to be functioning well. 

I selected No from the menu which asks if you want to open each of the entries.

I will attach the .ics file I used.

Sets batchmode for event import. Import takes 20 minutes on my computer.

Note that Calendar is still slow (also at startup) with such a large file,
1600+ events. 
Note that the ics file attached to this bug is gzipped.

This is checked into CVS. It should help, but its still probably slow for the
very first time you run calendar.
I've found that the speed is much better after the file has been loaded once.
