We want to put the Proton AppMenu behind browser.proton.appmenu.enabled for now.
I suggest adding a defineLazyPreferenceGetter kinda like this, but for browser.proton.appmenu.enabled. Maybe name it protonAppMenuEnabled, and put it around here.
Then replace the usage of gProton with this.protonAppMenuEnabled or something.
