The latest builds (85.0b3 and maybe earlier) keep popping up a save draft window, which interrupts my message composition. Some messages take a long time to compose. There is no reason for this to occur unless I abandon the message by closing its window.
And it is confusing since it implies something has gone wrong!

So far it is not doing it today. But it is just the usual save draft message.

I don't know what that means.
Is it Bug 1684264 - 'Unable to save your message as a draft' message appears occasionally? (check the screen shots please)

The save draft message should not pop up until you do something that would destroy the message window.

Then it sounds like bug 670801, whose text has been changed since then, because it now offers to save the draft to local folders.
Do you have multiple accounts, and does it only happen to one account - the gmail account?

Thus far just gmail. The other bug is really old. This has just started happening for me.
