I don't know if anyone else has came across this problem but it's happened to me enough times to make me wonder about it now. I've been using Mozilla and the Nightlies for over a year now and it’s happened about, I think, five/six times in the last six months. Occasionally when I'm loading up a site a dialogue box will pop up with the message "Cannot contact mozilla.org" and an OK button will appear. When I click that button I get a new browser window that fills the screen but will do nothing at all even if left for a few mins. There are no toolbars or controls so it /looks/ like an ad window but if I then refresh/reload the page trying to replicate the problem everything loads fine. As I said, the problem doesn't seem to form any particular patter and so far it's never happened twice on the same site but its deffinitly happening. I'm currently using Build 2002082908 (OK, It's quite old..but its happened before this) on Windows 98 accessing the net through a Win2K proxy with Norton Internet Security on it.
reporter, are you still seeing this with a new build of Mozilla? Could you provide a screenshot of the blank window?
I haven't seen it since I upgraded to one of the nightlies near the end of October. So, whatever it is may be fixed now. If I spot it again I'll take a capture and post it.
resolving as WFM based on reporter's comment
