The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.
Bug only occurs occasionally it appears, could possibly also be related to a Windows 10 2004 bug, the XBox gamebar (comes with Win10) being activated and .exe NOT automatically being terminated if user disables Xbox gamebar in Windows settings.

Alastor, could you help me triage this?

Could you check if the botton Control media via keyboard, headset, or virtual interface, in about:preference , is false? Any if you retrigger the button to make it unclick, will the issue still happen?
Thank you.

I can't reproduce this issue on my Windows 10, whenever I un-click the button in the about:preference, the media metadata part will disappear immediately.
"Control media via keyboard etc." is unticked, cannot reproduce.
Ok I can now confirm, it is related to a very annoying. Windows-bug with Gamebar. Pressing Windows-key + G together will open gamebar overlay, and then even when closing, the gamebar volume overlay remains, even with "background-recording" gamebar-feature disabled... -.-
To remove the volume-overlay, user has to end GameBar.exe process manually... -.-

Per comment7, it sounds like this is not a Firefox issue? Close this bug, but feel free to reopen it if you still think that is Firefox's issue.
