User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0
Steps to reproduce:
I did nothing, the AOL account was working fine until a week ago.
Actual results:
Since a week ago all pop3 access ended in error, Thunderbird asked me to enter a new password, but the password was correct.
Expected results:
Your support web page - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manual-account-configuration - should now contemplate the following AOL modification (not documented by them!):
Authenticatin Method should be changed from "Normal Password" to "OAuth2" in order for pop3 to work again as before.

We automatically migrated everyone back in bug 1670892. Did you in between set it up manually to be Normal password?

As far as I remember, the reply to your question is no. The strange part is that the "normal password" worked well until recently. However I am glad that you antecipated this problem and solved it. I checked my Yahoo account, it is also "OAuth2". Let's consider my post as closed. Thank you.

Ok, no idea what happened then. (Yes, I think they didn't do a hard cut of at the date they said, but apparently it'd now in effect.)
