Steps to reproduce:

Using Firefox 79 or newer:

1. Install Adblock Plus web extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/).
2. Navigate to https://example.com/.
3. Open developer tools and dock it.
4. Switch to "Adblock Plus" developer tools tab.
5. Click on one of the dropdown elements at the top of the panel.
6. Undock developer tools into separate window.
7. Again, click on one of the dropdown elements at the top of the panel.

Actual results:

Dropdown expands when developer tools are docked.
Dropdown does not expand when developer tools are undocked.

Expected results:

Dropdown expands when developer tools are docked.
Dropdown expands when developer tools are undocked.

I reproduced this on macOS 10.15.7 x86_64, Firefox 84.0.2, Firefox Developer Edition 86.x, Firefox Nightly 87, and on Linux with Firefox 84 coming from Fedora 33 x86_64. As to confirm it not being platform or channel specific.

Hello,

I reproduced the issue on the latest Nightly (87.0a1/20210217213226), Beta (86.0/20210217195321) and Release (85.0.2/20210208133944) under Windows 10 x64 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

The dropdown menu gets broken when undocking the developer tools UI, as originally mentioned in the report description.
