Hi,

My apologies, I didn't know about the crash IDs.
Here are the last 4 ones which happened today while doing the same action:

bp-3ab7847a-a7e0-4e00-8ce5-3a7c30210216
bp-77a7cec5-3c81-48e1-bace-196b50210216

Flags: needinfo?(bugzilla)

Your crash signatures are all __pthread_kill | abort | gpusGenerateCrashLog.cold.1
There seem to be a number of crashes in this area, some with associated bug reports like bug 1692399, so this may be an emerging issue.

Does your crash stop or reduce after doing Help > Restart with add-ons disabled ?

Summary: crash while sending an email reply → crash while sending an email reply @ __pthread_kill | abort | gpusGenerateCrashLog.cold.1

Hi
I will try when it happens again and update this ticket.
It's a weekly issue for me so it might not be that long before you hear back.

Flags: needinfo?(bugzilla)

Hi,

Restarting without add-on did ont change anything.
See a crash from this morning:

Before disabling add-ons
bp-ef8d81c2-52f7-4022-a3c3-07e710210218

After disabling add-ons
bp-6035736c-b7f5-44fb-8b4e-9519c0210218

Restarting in Safe Mode allowed me to send the email though...

Thunderbird crashed while opening it this time.
I had to start in safe more in order to be able to start it, then I can quit and restart in normal mode.

bp-3434a2fe-ac69-4299-a04a-3eb400210219
bp-1d6378b5-0cb6-40fe-9387-1bc160210219

It still crashes on a daily basis for me. It has been months.
Anyone able to point out the root cause? This is so annoying, I'm about to port everything to another client.
Worse is when typing a long answer, sending it, and crash. Then have to start again everything.

I took the habit to copy my answer before I hit SEND now, just in case it happens.
Thank you

What happens if you set mailnews.show_send_progress to false - preferences > config editor > paste in mailnews.show_send_progress > toggle > restart

I switched mailnews.show_send_progress to false.
Give me a couple of days and I'll get back to you.

Wayne,
I had to switch all of my accounts to macOS Mail
The daily multiple crashes a day were too much for my workload.
It's been going on for too long. I won't update this ticket anymore.
Thanks for the help.
