Attached file Th.Scroll.Issue.eml —

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0

Steps to reproduce:

thunderbird-78.7.0-2.fc33.x86_64

A particular vendor's eMail runs off the bottom of the display page, but there is no scroll bar to scroll down. To view the underneath, I have to <ctrl><a> and <Ctrl>c>, then paste to a text processor. This is the only vendor that this happens on. I will attach their eml file. If the whole thing show on your window, size the windows smaller to see the missing scroll bar.

I can reproduce the issue using the test email using Thunderbird 78.7.1 on Fedora 33 Workstation.

Using View > Message Body as Simple HTML helps.

Using the Zoom controls also helps but this line is overlapped and I have to disable the Status bar to see the very last line.

Any how-to questions we can help with? Please be sure to attend our weekly live Ask The Expert Q&A Sessions.

If you have Preferences > General "Use autoscrolling" enabled and use the feature it works very well.

Would like to test on Windows 10 later.

Component: Untriaged → Message Reader UI

This just happened to me. The email text seems to be placed in some kind of container of a fixed width and length, but "view source" doesn't actually show me the HTML they used so I can't tell if it's a table or a div or what. Also, when I choose "edit as a new message" it occurs in the Write window too.
