User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.6
Steps to reproduce:
When I enter a POP/IMAP password incorrectly, a subsequent re-enter of a correct password also fails. The only way around this is to cancel the connection, then click Get Msgs, and then re-enter the correct password.
Expected results:
Transmit the re-entered password following the prompt (and not having to cancel the exchange). I believe that without the cancel, the re-entered password is being ignored, and the original mis-entered password is being resent. This is happening with both POP and IMAP connections.
This one seems not to be a universal problem. I've not seen an issue when connecting to servers running Zimbra or Exchange, but I have seen it with Fastmail (which I've discovered runs Cyrus IMAP), and I believe I saw the same issue on another server that I used to use that was also Cyrus IMAP.
I'm inclined to suggest that this might be something that is specific to Cyrus IMAP.

It seems to be a problem with these email servers. I never ran into it with any of my accounts. Do you have a Thunderbird setup too? If there are problems it is probably in shared code.

Sorry that I neglected to check with another client before filing. I just set up a connection in Thunderbird, and ran checks on multiple sessions. In each case in Thunderbird, I initially entered the wrong password, and then when notified of a failed login, I entered the correct password, and had no problems with authenticating.
Thus, the problem seems to be limited to Seamonkey, and the only servers that I can identify that I've had that issue with are ones running Cyrus IMAP. The other Cyrus setup that I've seen in the past no longer exists, so I can't test against that.
