Details
When doing $ mozilla -remote "openurl(http://something, new-tab" mozilla treats "http://something, new-tab" as the target URL, although it understands peferctly that there are two arguments when doing it with new-window.
Please always include build ID in bug-reports. Duplicate of bug 116653?

In fact, I use Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020623 Debian/1.0.0-0.woody.1, and it seems to be a duplicate... (but why didn't that bug show when I searched for "new-tab" ?)
Perhaps your search didn't include fixed bugs? Resolving as dup. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 116653 ***
