User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/88.0.4324.150 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to save attacments in the Downloads folder, using all available options: Save As..., Save All. I was forced to open each attachment to save it, which is not what I expected, and is not practical at all. The bug appeared today, yesterday it was working as expected.
Actual results:
I always got the same error message "Unable to save the attachment. Please check your filename and try again later.", and the operation failed.
Expected results:
The attachment should have been saved in the Downloads folder.

I am using Thunderbird 78.7.1 (64-bit), the ubuntu snap build, on a Linux Mint PC updated to the last version.

I was forced to open each attachment to save it
Why, if it offered to "Save All"?
Please check your filename and try again later.
Do you have an example filename?

As I wrote in the original description, before filing the bug I have tried all available options: Save As... and Save All. I got the same result in both cases. I am now using a different PC with the same configuration (same OS and same version of Thunderbird) and Save All works. Issue happens with very simple filenames such as: download_page_concept_blue.png and even with Promemoria.pdf.

Sorry, today Thunderbird is working as expected, and saving attachments properly. Apologies for the noise.
