User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0
Steps to reproduce:
The PDF version of the Feb 21, 2021 New York Times first page renders correctly in Edge, but not in Firefox. The link is https://static01.nyt.com/images/2021/02/21/nytfrontpage/scan.pdf
Actual results:
Each dot in the infographic represents a covid-19 death, but no dots are rendered
Expected results:
The dots should be rendered, as happens in Edge

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::PDF Viewer' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

I see dots on Linux with both Nightly and 85, so probably some platform problem.

I can see the spinning wheel on the picture you shared so it means that the pdf is not fully loaded.
So maybe try to wait a little more.
The same as :evilpie, on linux with nightly I've no rendering issues.

As :calixte says, indeed there's he spinning wheel, meaning it's loading. This time I've waited a few seconds until it disappears, and I get the same behaviour:

I could reproduce the issue with Firefox 85.0.2 under Win 10 64-bit.
However the pdf is correctly rendered on Firefox 86, so I suggest updating to the latest Firefox version.
Please let us know if it works for you on latest Firefox release.

Marking this issue as RWFM, as everyone should have already updated to Firefox 86 by now.
Please feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce on newer Firefox versions. Thank you!
