Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0
Steps to reproduce:
Enable Proton via the pref.
Have the search bar on the toolbar.
Type some text into the search bar.
Actual results:
Once text is in the search bar you can't move the cursor to insert additional text in the search bar In fact the cursor doesn't move at all. There are other issues regarding text highlighting. Searching in general via Proton is adversely affected using the Search bar.
Expected results:
Search bar should work like it did before Proton was enabled.

Should have tried this before opening this bug. Created a new profile and I enabled all of the Proton prefs. The search bar works as it should. Either an add-on or another pref is causing my problem. Will investigate.

The offending pref is 'layout.forms.input-type-search.enabled = true'. This causes the loss of the search bar text problems.

That's an experimental preference, so moving this across to core layout and marking as blocking the bug that is implementing it.
