User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0

Steps to reproduce:

Some IRC servers use different connection commands to authenticate or join channels upon connecting to the IRC server. In addition, some servers have different NickServ identify passwords that the SSL password to login.

Because of this, it would be useful to have an option to configure manual "/msg " strings to the IRC server upon joining, in the account settings for a given IRC account.

I think this would be a great thing for an extension to implement, although unfortunately WebExtensions cannot touch the chat code. :(

Out of curiosity what sort of commands would need to be sent? I know QuakeNet does some different bits to identify, but I thought using SASL during connection worked most places now.

Component: Instant Messaging → IRC
