I'm having problems getting two of the preferences to stick: "Enable Plugins"
and "Load a page requested by another application" under "Open a new tab, rather
than a window, when:".
With "Enable Plugins" I check it, "Show all" preference panes, and when I go
back to the Privacy pane it's unchecked again. I can't get it to stick at all.
With "Load a page..." it's the opposite - I uncheck it, and when I restart
Chimera it's checked again.
Reproducible: Always

Yeah, I think both checkboxes are broken.

i can reproduce the "enable plugins" checkbox problem. however, i don't have
problems with the "load a page requested by another application" pref --i can
toggle that one fine.
tested using 2002.09.18.04.

Basically, my findings are the same as Sarah's. The enable plugins checkbox
remains unchecked and can't repro "load a page requested by another application"
checkbox issue.
I also couldn't find a parameter for this option in the prefs.js file. So it's
no surprise that my preference isn't stored

This is fixed now. The pref is "chimera.enable_plugins".

ack, lost my changes...
verified fixed using 2002.10.07.04, with the following caveats:
* after making this change, need to either quit and restart chimera --or, open a
new browser window. opening a new tab will still display plugin content.
* plugins are still loaded on startup, even though they're disabled from the
frontend. filed bug 173125.
* if i load a shockwave file, chimera will crash. filed bug 173131.
