Steps to reproduce:

To reproduce the error, please follow these five steps, illustrations are provided in the attachment Steps to Reproduce.zip:

1. Open up Firefox and another application (e.g. Preview) in full screen mode;
2. Enter Split View, by merging the windows of two applications into one;
3. Quit Firefox (Command + Q);
4. Restart Firefox;
5. Now Firefox is started, but with its window overlaid on top of another application.

Actual results:

The new Firefox window overlays on top of another full screen application.

Expected results:

The new Firefox window should appear on Desktop.

Hey Yuxuan, I tried following the exact steps you mentioned in Comment 0, but I could not reproduce it at all. Tried on macOS 11.2.2 and macOS 10.15.7.

Maybe the device model also affects the behavior. On my MacBookPro16,3, App Store won't enter Split View, so I used Preview instead for demonstration. Here's an attachment of what I did.

I can confirm the problem on my 16" MacBook Pro together with the preview app. Firefox opens in the same space as the fullscreen preview app.

Martin, did this reproduce with both native and non-native fullscreen?

Yes, it reproduces on both. Firefox always restores on the space it was closed on, which causes this problem in fullscreen/split view.
