I'm pleased with the performance of the 6.7 version of Communicator, my system
seems to run faster, even my IT staff has similar comments.
Now for my beef. May be this is not a bug, just dumb user, please help.
Under my older versions of Communicator ALL of my email came up as
text in the windows in the mail reader, now about half of my mail requires an
additional step to view. I have to click on it as if it were an attachment. WHY?
I've looked for preference settings, I prefer to have all of these displayed in
plain text not as an attachment. This never occured in 6.6.
We do run Imap and standard pop mail settings here at WebServe. Here is a sample
of the attachment window at the bottom of the mail that I have to click on to
view my mail.
Part 1.1
Type: Plain Text (text/plain)
Encoding: quoted-printable
Just looking for this information has caused me to have to retype this message.
Then I went back into my email to copy you the type of attached view I am
talking about. When I opened the message, it captured the browser I was working
in, opening the mail, and it blew away this explanation I was trying to send in
an online, Netscape form. Losing my online message to you was just another
inconvience resulting from having to click to open mail that opens in a seperate
browser window. I do I change this? And another thing, why is it that none of my
history caches? I have my cache settings at the default and C:\Program
files\Netscape\Users\eric\cache is also default. I have been installing upgrades
over older versions of netscape for several years now and have never completly
reinstalled, does this matter?
Thanks,
Eric Robinson

Eric - thanks for your bug report. We don't have a 6.6 or 6.7 version so I
assume you are writing about 4.6 and 4.7 of Communicator.
This bug database that you are using is for our next version, 5.0, product line.
However, I can try to help you quickly here. When you have a message selected,
go into the View menu and make sure that the menu item "View Attachment Inline"
is checked. If not, select it. This way, the emails you get will be able to be
viewed directly in the mail window.
For future questions on 4.6/4.7, please refer to
http://home.netscape.com/support/index.html since that is the proper forum for
your questions.
Thank you.
Also, I can't answer your question on history cache because that's not my area
and I don't know the answer off the top of my head. I happen to come across your
bug report since you filed it to mail/news.

I'm going to go and mark this as wontfix as these questions of yours are about
4.7 and Lisa already referred you to the link for 4.x problems. Bugzilla is used
to record bugs on the Mozilla open source project not the 4.x product.
That did it like I said, it could be a dumb user errror and I was right.
I did try ot use the link you provided originally, they refered me to the
Mozilla bug area.
Thank You Help
Eric
