User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0
Steps to reproduce:
This is a feature request.
For example, my default search engine is Bing. I enter a search query into the address bar, but I do not like the results Bing provides me. I therefore click on the address bar again and choose Google.
Actual results:
The search query I entered the first time is not remembered and I have to type my search query again to search for the same thing with Google.
Expected results:
The browser should remember my initial search query, so that if I select a second search engine in "This time, search with" the browser should automatically fill in my initial search query text in the address bar so I then just have to press enter to direct the same query to the second search engine.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for filing this. It's a feature we're interested in implementing but haven't worked on yet, in bug 1633335. I'll mark this as a dupe. See also bug 1636474.
