Steps to reproduce:

I am running ubuntu 18.04 on a 2012 MacBook pro. I have been running Firefox on this machine for as long as 18.04 has been installed on it with no issues.

I consistently connect to a dell D3000 DisplayLink dock with two monitors attached. When my machine is connected to the dock and monitors Firefox launches with no issues. When my machine is not connected to the dock Firefox crashes immediately upon startup every time. If I start Firefox connected to the dock and then disconnect the dock firefox runs fine.

I believe that it is an issue with Firefox 86. I purged FF and installed FF 85 from the release repo and it ran fine unattached to the dock until an automatic update pushed FF 86.

I thought that it could be a display issue so I tried running firefox --display=XXX with every combination for the display and it wouldn't start detached from the dock. I have also tried firefox --safe-mode and that did not solve the issue

Actual results:

Firefox will not start on Ubuntu 18.04 when my MacbookPro 2012 is disconnected from a dell 3000 DisplayLink dock.

Expected results:

Firefox should have started

Looking at the crash signature, this issue seems like a duplicate of bug 1694670 that is already fixed in Firefox 87 and Nightly 88.
Since I don't have the environment necessary to try to reproduce this myself, I would like to ask you to try and see if the issue occurs in either Beta or Nightly: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
