User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0
Steps to reproduce:
Logins (UID) and website Passwords should be two different user selected Options.
I do NOT use this combined option, because both are combined and saved.
Note: I believe that this is a Security (Risk) Issue.
I believe many users would like to save their Logins (UID) for websites; without saving their Password for the website.
Hint: The Login (UID) prompts the user to remembering the Password.
However, I understand that some users may in fact need to save both due to their specific challenges.
Actual results:
The option for Logins (UID) and website Passwords should NOT be combined.
I do not use this combined option, because both are combined and saved.
Expected results:
Recommend two Autofill (Save) Options:
[ ] Autofill Logins
[ ] Autofill Passwords

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Password Manager' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi there, thanks for filing this. While this is a valid use case, implementing this change would fundamentally change how we store our data and require a large lift to make this happen. As a potential workaround, you could clear out the password in the panel/doorhanger that appears after submitting your credentials and save the updated login without the password. This would allow you to store only usernames in about:logins.
As a matter of managing expectations, I don't believe we will get to this anytime soon.
