"Download rest of message" not working in subfolder, get blank message (pop)

Steps to reproduce:
New machine, trying to retrieve mail from my main email account. TB v78.8.1 (latest download as of Mar. 16, 2021). POP mail setup. Select download headers only. Get new messages, including a filter to move certain emails to a subfolder in the same account.
Now the main inbox has messages that say "Not Downloaded", "Download the rest of the message." Click on that, and voila, there is the message. Go to subfolder (i.e. (accountname)/stuff/family, and do the same thing on a message there, and poof - nothing! Just a white screen where the message text should be. Clicking reply shows just an odd colour single character block, or perhaps the end of an HTML thing. Don't know.
I have not changed any default settings from the install, like show only certain people html or anything - none of that is anything except default.
I suppose my only recourse at this point is to nuke the entire mail directory, set it up again, and forget about using fetch headers only.
And no, don't tell me to use IMAP. I don't have time to learn it, and when I tried it last year on a different account, it didn't pick up all the folders, etc. Just don't have time to deal with that.

No readable message body after "Download the rest of the message"
Expected results:
I would have expected to see the message body.

Perhaps this is fixed by Bug 1710275 - nsMsgMailSession::GetTopmostMsgWindow() broken since bug 1509060
Do you still see this when using version 91?
If you do, do you see anything in tools > developer > error console ?

Does not appear to be happening any more. Using 78.13.0. Wayne: why are you asking about version 91? Is that some sort of development branch? Sadly, I don't have time for that. Just sticking to the regular-folk versions. I guess you can close this or mark as no longer seen?

Version 91 is currently supported, and has been rolling out gradually for several months. Version 78 is end of life in a few weeks.
