User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to watch a 8k Youtube video (https://youtu.be/h3fUgOKFMNU) on Firefox Nightly 2021-03-17, fresh startup. Installed on my Acer An517-51-55NT. My Profiler is set on https://share.firefox.dev/3eR443R
Actual results:
The video wont play, only audio is playing. Only images from parts of the video are showing, like slides.
Expected results:
The video should play less laggy, I tried on Edge, is not perfect, but is way better. Firefox don't use all gpu for this, it keeps using 50% more or less. Edge when I tried to play the video uses almost 100% of integrated gpu for the process.

To make sure I understand, the issue is that the video never plays well (not just when the profiler is running)?
For devs, it looks like the Windows vp9 hardware decoder isn't keeping up.

That is the same as bug1692881, now the mechanism we use for synchronize audio and video doesn't work pretty well on some videos, which is usually high-resolution, see here for more details.
